Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival in Kathmandu transfer to hotel (1,350m)

Upon landing at Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport, you'll be met by your guide who will transfer you to your hotel. With your first day unplanned, you can either rest at the hotel or venture out into the bustling streets of Kathmandu to explore local markets and try the delicious street food.

Day 2:

Drive from Kathmandu to Dhap (2,932m) Duration: 7-8 hours

Commence your journey with an 8-9 hour drive from Kathmandu to Dhap. As you approach Sigane, the Numbur Himal peaks reveal themselves. The trek from Sigane follows a road under construction.

Day 3:

Trek from Dhap to Jhapre (2,829m) Duration: 5-6 hours

Your first stop is the village of Japre (2920 m/9580 ft), perched above a deep valley with stunning views of Everest and Numbur Himal. Spend the night here, surrounded by a picturesque landscape, a charming gompa, and a stupa.

Day 4:

Trek from Jhapre to Pikey Peak Base Camp (3,640m) Duration: 5-6 hours

From Japre, the trail ascends to a grassy ridge at Bhulbhule, offering spectacular views of the Everest range. Turn right towards Pikey Peak, passing old yak houses and a long mani stone wall. Traverse through a beautiful forested trail, adorned with rhododendrons in the spring. After leaving the forest, reach Pikey Peak base camp and prepare for the short climb to the summit at 4065 m / 13336 ft.

Day 5:

Hike to Pikey Peak and trek to Junbesi (2,700m) Duration: 5-6 hours

Embark on an early morning ascent to Pikey Peak for a breathtaking sunrise. Enjoy panoramic views from Annapurna to Kanchenjunga. Follow the ridgeline, descending to Jase Bhanjyang for breakfast. Continue the walk to Loding, navigating through forested sections with occasional steep descents. Descend to Jase Bhanjyang for breakfast and explore the stunning shortcut trail through old growth forest to Taktor. From Taktor, continue to Junbesi, a traditional Sherpa village rich in culture and architecture. Visit the Thubtenchoeling Monastery and immerse yourself in the sacred Sherpa valley.

Day 6:

Trek from Junbesi to Phaplu (2,469m) Duration: 5-6 hours

Embark on the trail to Taksindu, crossing rivers and climbing through forests. Admire views of Everest, Chamlang, and Makalu, weather permitting. Pass through Ringmo with its famous apple orchards, and reach Taksindu La for mountain vistas. Descend to Taksindu Monastery, built in 1946, and explore a scenic path through the forest down to Phaplu or opt to hike to Chiwong Gompa, perched high on a cliff. Chiwong Gompa, founded in 1923, hosts grand celebrations during the Mani Rimdu festival. Descend to Phaplu, where you can relax in a cozy tea house.

Day 7:

Flight or Drive from Phaplu to Kathmandu; Duration: 25 minutes

Explore a scenic path through the forest down to Phaplu or opt to hike to Chiwong Gompa, perched high on a cliff. Chiwong Gompa, founded in 1923, hosts grand celebrations during the Mani Rimdu festival. Descend to Phaplu, where you can relax in a cozy tea house.

Day 8:

Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport

The journey concludes with a transfer to the airport. Depart with cherished memories of the Peaky Peak, leaving behind the stunning landscapes of Nepal. Safe travels!
