Detailed Itinerary

1

Day 1:

Arrive in Kathmandu (1,400 m). Overnight at a Hotel

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Master Himalaya will greet you and transfer you to a 3-star hotel in Kathmandu. After checking in, you'll have a brief orientation session, followed by a leisurely day to rest or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel.

Day 2:

Fly to Lukla (2,840 m) from Kathmandu – 35 minutes or drive to Manthali – 4 to 6 hours and take – 25 minutes flight to Lukla, and then trek to Phakding (2,610 m), – 3 to 4 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse.

Early morning, you'll fly to Lukla, where your trek to Phakding begins. Your porters will be introduced, and after handing over your luggage, you'll embark on a pleasant trek alongside the Dudh Koshi River. This short trek serves as a warm welcome to the Everest region.

Day 3:

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) – 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at Guesthouse

Start the day early with a trek to Namche Bazaar, walking alongside the Dudhkoshi River through suspension bridges and forests. After lunch in the Monjo Valley, continue through beautiful forests and uphill ascents to reach Namche Bazaar, a bustling hub of porters, travelers, and local Sherpas.

Day 4:

Namche Bazaar Acclimatization Day. Overnight at a Guesthouse

Take a day for acclimatization at Namche Bazaar. Enjoy sunrise views of Mt. Ama Dablam, Cho Oyu, and more. Optionally, explore Syangboche airport, visit Hotel Everest View, or hike along the Dudh Koshi River.

Day 5:

Trek to Phorste Thanga (3,680 m) – 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse

Rise early in Namche and embrace the trail towards Phorste Thanga at 4,470m. The journey unfolds through picturesque landscapes, crossing rocky terrain and alpine meadows. As you ascend, the air becomes crisper, and panoramic views of the Himalayas surround you. Engage in the rhythmic trek, taking in the beauty of Cho Oyu and Everest. Reach Phorste Thanga, a tranquil haven at a high altitude. Settle in, enjoy a hearty meal, and soak in the mountain ambiance. Rest well for the adventures that lie ahead.

Day 6:

Trek to Machherma (4,470 m) – 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse

After an early breakfast in Phorste, trek to Machhermo through gentle uphill slopes, offering amazing views of Mt. Taboche, Cholatse, Cho Oyu, and Everest.

Day 7:

Trek to Gokyo (4,800 m) – 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse

Descend to the riverbank and climb to the Ngozumpa glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas. Reach Gokyo Village, passing the first, second, and third Gokyo Lakes.

Day 8:

Trek to Gokyo Ri (5,483 m) and Back to Gokyo – 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse

Trek to Gokyo Ri for a mesmerizing sunrise view of Makalu, Everest, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, and more. Explore the 4th and 5th Gokyo Lakes in the afternoon.

Day 9:

Trek to Dole (4,200 m) – 6 to 7 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse

Embark on a scenic descent from Gokyo, retracing your steps through the breathtaking landscapes. As you leave the serene Gokyo Village behind, descend towards Dole, a charming settlement amidst the Himalayan beauty. The trail weaves through varied terrain, offering glimpses of the awe-inspiring mountains. Traverse through rocky paths and lush greenery, appreciating the ever-changing scenery. Arrive in Dole, a peaceful haven nestled in the mountains, where you'll spend the night. Reflect on the day's journey and anticipate the adventures awaiting you on the trek.

Day 10:

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) via Khumjung village (3,780 m) – 5 to 6 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse

Embark on a picturesque descent from Dole, traversing through the captivating landscapes of the Everest region. The trail leads you through lush forests, charming Sherpa villages, and scenic mountain views. As you descend, relish the changing scenery and the Himalayan vistas that accompany your journey. Pass through charming hamlets and vibrant prayer-flag-adorned paths, immersing yourself in the rich Sherpa culture. Eventually, arrive back in Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Khumbu region. Spend the night in this vibrant town, reminiscing about the trek and soaking in the lively atmosphere.

Day 11:

Trek to Lukla (2,840 m) – 6 to 7 hours. Overnight at a Guesthouse

Descend through rocky terrains to Lukla. Spend the day exploring Lukla or visiting the school established by Sir Edmund Hillary.

Day 12:

Fly to Kathmandu – 35 minutes or Manthali – 25 minutes from Lukla (2,840 m) and same-day drive to Kathmandu – 4 to 6 hours. Farewell Dinner in Kathmandu. Overnight at a Hotel.

Fly back to Kathmandu, and spend the day exploring Thamel. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner.

Day 13:

Transfer to the International Airport for Your Final Flight Departure

Master Himalaya will transfer you to the airport for your international flight, marking the end of your Gokyo Lake Trek. Depart with cherished memories of the Himalayas.
