Detailed Itinerary

1

Day 1:

Drive from Kathmandu to Maccha khola (8,00m) Duration: 7-8 hours

The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Maccha-Khola, a journey that unveils the structure of hills( upper and lower), curvy roads, fresh rivers and forest of Nepal. After having lunch at Arughat, you traverse approximately 13 km to reach Sotikhola. Here you will change the vehicle (bus to jeep) because of the narrow cliffside road, you can see two huge waterfall in the road itself, After driving 14km from soti khola enjoying the view of snow capped famous mountains like Mount Manaslu, Ganesh Himal etc. You arrive at Maccha-Khola, and settle into the comforts of the Hotel, offering rooms with attached bathrooms. The day concludes with a hearty meal, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Day 2:

Trek from Machha Khola to Jagat (1,340m) Duration: 6-7 hours

The trek starts early morning with a good breakfast diet. It is a 22km (13.7 miles) journey from Machha Khola to Jagat, a scenic route that unfolds the beauty of the Buddhi Gandaki river. Trekking for 4-5 hours, you pass through Kholabesi and reach Tatopani ( Hot Spring ) Here we stop for a healthy lunch and experience the natural hot springs.after 3-4 hours we reach today's final destination Jagat. Accommodate at a local lodge arranged by Master Himalaya Treks and Expedition and enjoy the provided meals.

Day 3:

Trek from Jagat to Lokpa (2,390m) Duration: 5-6 hours

Lokpa is a point of difference in Manaslu circuit trek and Tsum Valley Trek. Trekkers trekking to Manaslu circuit will trek directly to Namrung, but for the Tsum valley also called as the hidden valley we stay one night at Lokpa and then head straight north near towards Tibetan border. Lokpa marks the entry into the restricted Tsum Valley region. Traverse a distance of 17.5km (10.8 miles) over 6-7 hours, ascending to Lokpa at 2,040m (4,493ft). . The trail offers panoramic views of Himalchuli and Boudha Himal, creating a captivating backdrop for your overnight stay. Meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, are included.

Day 4:

Trek from Lokpa to Chumling (called Lower Tsum) (2,390m) Duration: 5-6 hours

After the morning breakfast, Continue the adventure with an 6.3km (3.9 miles) trek lasting 5-6 hours from Lokpa to Chumling. As you trek forward, the landscape transforms, first walking a sharp uphill to cantilever bridge then desend to Siyar khola. You will cross three suspension bridge.  After having a lunch, again ascend up to the Chumling, offering glimpses of the Ganesh Himalaya range very close . The day concludes with an overnight stay in Chumling also known as lower Tsum valley, complemented by meals.

Lokpa to Chumling is a 5-6 hrs short camp you will get a good leisure for the exploration.

Day 5:

Trek from Chumling to Chokhangparo - Upper Tsum Valley (3,010m) Duration: 5-6 hours

After the morning breakfast, Continue the adventure with an 8.4km (5.2 miles) trek lasting 5-6 hours from Chumling to Chhokangparo. Chokangparo is also known as the Upper Tsum valley decorated with the influence of Tibetan style, you can see few monastery along the way. In an altitude of 3,010m Tusm valley offers the clear and close view of the Himalaya range, the trek concludes with an overnight stay in Chhokangparo at the best hotel in that area.

Day 6:

Trek from Chokhangparo to Nile via Milarepa Cave (3,361m) Duration: 4-5 hours

Trekking in a Historical trade route of Nepal - Tibet, Today's Journey of 9.7km (6 miles) a short camp from Chhokangparo to Nile which can be finished in about 4-5 hours . In the way, explore the Milarepa Piren Phu Cave, a sacred site decorated with Buddhist murals and scripts, mani walls and nunneries . Your day concludes with an overnight stay in Nile, accompanied by the provided meals.

Day 7:

Trek from Nile to mU Gompa and back to Nile (3,700m). Duration: 3-4 hours

After having breakfast ascend to Mu Gompa at an altitude of 3,700m (11,026 ft) the final destination in the north of Tsum valley  trek. There is no any facilities for good night accommodation so we return back to Nile for the night stay. There is a option for trekking to Tibetan border crossing Ngula Dhojyang pass at the altitude of 5,093 m which will take one extra day. Explore the monastery and soak in the spiritual ambiance of the surroundings.

Day 8:

Trek Nile to Chhokangparo (3010m) Duration: 5-6 hours

Descend from Mu Gompa to Chhokangparo, a 6-hour trek allowing you to retrace your steps and revisit the charming village. Settle into your accommodation and relish the provided meals.

Day 9:

Trek from Chhokangparo to Chumling (2,386m) Duration: 6-7 hours

Continue the descent with a 6-7 hour trek from Chhokangparo to Chumling. Passing through Gho and Rainjam Village, immerse yourself in the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region. The day concludes with an overnight stay and meals in Chumling.

Day 10:

Trek From Chumling To Deng (1860 m)

You have just completed the Tsum Valley trek (chumling - mugompa - chumling) from here we continue to trek west towards the ultimate goal “The Larkey la pass”.After Having breakfast on Day 11, It's 6-7 hour trek from Chumling to Deng, descending along the Shair Khola. Pass through Lokpa Village and bamboo forests, marveling at the changing landscapes. Your overnight stay in Deng is complemented by meals.

Day 11:

Trek from Deng to Namrung (2,660m) Duration: 5-6 hours

Today after having breakfast we again follow the budhi gandaki river crossing the suspension bridge  and reach budhii gandaki valley. The trek from Deng to Namrung, imagine a 6-7 hour journey through bamboo and rhododendron forests. Cross rivers and ascend to Namrung Village, your gateway to the Nupri region. Settle into your accommodation and enjoy the provided meals.

Day 12:

Trek from Namrung to Samagaun (3,520m) Duration: 4-5 hours

Embark on a 17.7km (11 miles) trek lasting 8-9 hours, passing through Mani walls and Buddhist Gompas. Enjoy panoramic views of the Manaslu range as you make your way to Sama Gaon. Your overnight stay at Hotel Manaslu includes meals and a room with an attached bathroom.

Day 13:

Acclimatization day at Samagaun

Take a well-deserved rest day in Sama Gaon, exploring the village or opting for optional excursions to Birendra Lake or Pungyen Gompa. Enjoy the comforts of Hotel Manaslu, with meals provided throughout the day.

Day 14:

Trek from Sama Gaon to Larkya La Phedi (Dharmasala) (4,500m) Duration: 4-5 hours

Embark on an 18.5km (11.4 miles) trek lasting 5-6 hours, taking you to Larkya La Phedi (Dharmasala) at 4,460m (14,632ft). Settle into a dormitory or tent for the night, relishing in the provided meals.

Day 15:

Trek From Dharamsala To Bhimtang(3,720 m) by Crossing Larkya La pass

The highlight of the trek awaits as you cross the formidable Larkya La Pass at 5,160m (16,929ft). Trek 24.7km (15.3 miles) over 7-8 hours, descending to Bhimtang at 3,720m (12,205ft). Enjoy the breathtaking views and settle into Punkar Guest House for the night, with meals provided.

Day 16:

Trek from Bhimthang to Gho (2,500m) Duration: 5-6 hours

Trek 10km (6.2 miles) over 4-5 hours from Bhimtang to Gho, offering stunning views of the Marsyangdi Valley. Find accommodation in a local lodge and enjoy the provided meals.

Day 17:

Trek from Gho to Tal (1,700m) Duration: 6-7 hours

Cover a distance of 13km (8 miles) over 4-5 hours from Gho to Tal, descending through fields and forests. Find comfort in a local lodge for your overnight stay, complemented by meals.

Day 18:

Drive from Tal to Besisahar then Kathmandu

Embark on a 9-10 hour drive from Tal to Besisahar and then back to Kathmandu. Reflect on the incredible journey as you traverse the diverse landscapes of Nepal. Included are all standard meals, comprising breakfast and lunch, providing a fitting conclusion to this awe-inspiring trek.

What is Excluded in Manaslu and Tsum Valley Trek Cost ?
  • Travelers are responsible for arranging their travel insurance. This insurance should cover emergency medical evacuation, trip cancellations, and other unforeseen circumstances.
  • For those opting for private transportation, a private jeep from Kathmandu to Sotikhola costs $250 per way. This provides a more personalized and convenient mode of transportation.
  • Bar bills, personal expenses such as phone calls, laundry service, battery recharge, the purchase of bottled water, hot water, and shower facilities are not included in the package and are considered personal expenses. Trekkers should budget accordingly.
  • Tipping for the guide is a customary practice in the trekking industry. While the specific amount can vary, it's generally recommended to tip based on the quality of service provided. This amount is not included in the package and should be budgeted separately.

Manslau and Tsum Valley Trek Permit and Cost

For Manaslu circuit and tusm valley trek we need 4 permits in total, Manaslu Consrevation Area Permit (MCAP) , Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) , Manaslu Restricted Area Permit and Tsum valley Restricted Area permit, Why do we need Annapurna Conservation area permit on Manaslu and Tsum Valley trek? After passing the Larkey la pass of 5160 m we conclude our trek at Dharapani which is also an initial point for Annapurna circuit trek and Dharapani lies on Annapurna conservation area. Many trekkers also continue their trek to Thorang la pass: The highest point of Annapurna circuit trek. For those Trekkers who are only trekking Tsum Valley dont need Annapurna conservation Area permit (MCAP).

The cost for Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP) and Anapurna conservation Area permit (ACAP) cost NPR 3000 per person each, if the trekkers are associated in SAARC then the price is NPR 1000 per person each. Manaslu Restricted Area permit cost USD 100 per week per person,  extending Manaslu Restricted Area permit beyond 7 days will cost Usd 15 per person per day and Tsum restricted area cost USD 70 per week per person. Extending permit beyond 7 days will cost USD 7 per per person per day.

All the Expenses and preparation for the permits will be taken care by Master Himalaya Treks and Expedition.

Accomodation Facilities and foods in the Hotels/Teahouses Manslu Circuit and Tsum Valley Trek

The Manaslu and Tsum Valley trek is not as commercialized as the Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Circuit treks, but it's becoming a bit more popular these days. In lower areas like Macchakhola, Jagat, and Namrung, you can find hotels with attached bathrooms, charging stations, SIM network, and internet. However, at higher altitudes, in places like Samagaon, Samdo, Bhimtang, and Dhatrapani, the hotels are usually powered by solar energy, so they charge a small fee of 2-3 USD for electricity and internet facilities.

The option of food are limited in the route particularly in higher altitudes. Three meals, breakfast lunch and dinner are provided in the package with complimentary of hot drinks. Trekkers can choose any meal available in the hotel menu.
